Thorben Beck had his first Reiki initiation in 1989 and is a Reiki Teacher of the Furumoto – Hayashi – Takata – Usui line since 1999.

What is Reiki?
Reiki is a profound healing
energy, that all human beings have at their disposal. This
universal energy is transferred into one's own or other people's
body by using the hands. This way an adjustment of body, mind and
soul takes place. Blockades, which for example can manifest as
illnesses, can be dissolved by Reiki. The Japanese Dr. Usui
rediscovered this method by the end of the 19th century and called
it Reiki. Reiki enables us to recognize and activate our own
healing force. Reiki is the most simple, natural and also oldest
healing method of mankind.
Treatments
- Classic/Traditional Reiki
- Reiki with Mental Training (With this treatment a mental training takes place at the same time in which constructive thoughts are built up. A harmonious learning process occurs and a constant increase of the own strength begins,as a result of which everyone is more and more able to change their life).
The First Degree
In the first degree Reiki
course four “attunements“ or “inititations“ are given to the
student by the teacher. Students learn hand placement positions on
the recipient's body. With the initiations the student's healing
channels are activated and opened up for good. Many students are
touched deeply by this energy, even at the initiations, so that old
patterns of behavior and blockades can dissolve.
- Now universal energy flows through the hands for effective use for oneself or other living beings.
- During the course Reiki treatments are received and given. * The participant can treat himself and others with Reiki and the flow of energy is sensed immediately.
The course duration is traditionally four sessions, most often presented in 2, 3, or 4 consecutive days.
The Second Degree
In the second degree
Reiki course the student learns the use of the three cosmic symbols
which are said to enhance the strength and distance over which the
effect can be exerted. Another attunement is given, which is said
to increase the capacity for Reiki to flow through the student, as
well as empowering the use of the symbols. Old patterns of behavior
can be changed and new ones created. Having completed the second
level, the student can work without being physically present with
the recipient.
Third Degree or Master Degree
Through the
third degree, or “master training“, the student becomes a Reiki
Master (in Reiki terminology, the word “master“ does not imply
spiritual enlightenment). One or more attunements are carried out
and the student learns a further master-level symbol. With the
master level a strong activation and radiation of energy begins. It
supports the willingness to grow in all areas of life. One's own
potential of power is increased largely. That way, strength and
courage to live an individual life is increased too. As a result,
one's inner capabilities and talents can be fulfilled more and more
on the outside.
Only after the wish arises (after an extended time of practical experience) to pass on the experiences with Reiki energy the initiation to the teacher level is given. Hereby the theoretical knowledge is of less importance. Rather important is to feel a connection with all that exists on earth. To pass on this understanding, love and tolerance to other living beings, that constitutes a real teacher of life. Having completed the teacher level the Reiki Master/Teacher can attune other people to Reiki and teach the three degrees of Reiki.
