Healing Fasting
Healing Fasting is a form of not religious motivated fasting and is supposed to “depoison“ and “regenerate“ the body. Often there is also the wish of “cleansing the soul“.
Methods of Healing Fasting
There are different types of Healing Fasting:
-
Buchinger Healing Fasting (Otto Buchinger, German physisian, 1878-1966) With vegetable broth and juices the body is supplied with few calories, vitamins and minerals. This reduces the strain on the metabolism. In addition there are given enemas for cleansing of the intestines.
-
With Fasting according Mayr (Franz Xaver Mayr Health Cure) stale rolls with a little milk are eaten twice a day in addition to the above.
-
With Juice Fasting only fruit and vegetable juices are drunk.
-
With protein added or modified Fasting a ration of buttermilk or a special protein shake is consumed dayly. This is supposed to prevent big losses of protein in the body and induce burning of more fat than protein.
-
With “Molke“ Fasting no solid food is eaten. During the day one liter of “Molke“ is consumed (to reduce loss of protein) furthermore 0,5 liter fruit juice (vitamins, minerals and calories) and 3 liters of spring/still water (is supposed to further particular body functions and depoisoning and reduce hunger). Additionally each morning a glass (0,2l) of Sauerkraut or plum juice is drunk. It is supposed to “cleanse“ the intestines and remove harmful substances stored up in the body.
-
With Tea Fasting there too no solid food is eaten but also no juices are drunk. Exclusively tea and water is drunk. This extreme form of fasting is recommended by physicians and relevant books only to very healthy people.
-
The Schroth Health Cure is also regarded as fasting health cure. Here, drinking days alternate with so called dry days.

A Diet Advice gives information about physiological, biochemical and allergic reactions in connection with the diet and includes advice to structure of food and its production process and if necessary to subjects like eating habits, lifestyle, body awareness and sports.
A Diet Advice is especially relevant for obese people. It can include drawing up a diet history, instructions for leading a diet protocol, a food value/food value tendency analysis and more.
Diet Advice including eventual diet therapy have a strong standing in medicine. People who need a special diet because of congenital or later developed deseases receive individual and sound informations by trained dietitians. A respectable diet advice means that during advice no products are sold and the advisor is neutral in relevance to manufacturers and advertisements.
